Elizabeth | Styled Bridal Shoot11.01.11

posted in bridal, portrait, styled, vintage, wedding

After attending my first ever photography workshop (branches & light)… I was instantly inspired to do a styled shoot. Not just any styled shoot but one that I could display who I am and what I love as a photographer.  I thought about it for months… and finally pulled together some ideas I had running through my head.  I enlisted the help of Elizabeth to brainstorm with me and see if we could bounce different ideas around. I knew Elizabeth and I had the same style and love for all things simple, fresh & vintage! Since Elizabeth had just finished planning her own wedding in May I knew she would be great for the job! :)  We did everything ourselves… from Elizabeth’s hair & make up to the weaved blanket she laid on.  Everything was done by us… which is probably why I’m so proud of it! ha! :)

I am beyond excited with how this shoot turned out! It was EXACTLY what I imagined it to be in my head… but even better!  Love when that happens! :)  We were blessed with a gorgeous (but HOT) July evening. We couldn’t have asked for better light… it was perfect!

Dress – Elizabeth’s mother’s wedding dress

Hair & make up – Elizabeth (& Kylee) from Freshair salon Fayetteville, AR

Flowers – bought from Sam’s Club and put together by Elizabeth and I

Blanket – strips of fabric/ribbon weaved together

Props – came from both Elizabeth and I’s home

Now onto the gorgeous pictures!  Enjoy!

One Light Workshop10.29.11

posted in lighting, portrait, workshop

Last Friday I attended the One Light Workshop in Worcester, MA.  I learned SO much and so thankful I was able to attend Zach’s lighting workshop!  This winter I’ve got big plans of practicing all I’ve learned on my hubby (he doesn’t know it yet though! haha!) and his friends.  I decided to show some of the images I captured at the workshop… some of my favorites! :)  I’d love any feedback!
